The Mandela Poster Project was launched in 2013 by a group of South African designers to honor and celebrate the legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, who dedicated his life to fighting against segregation (apartheid in Afrikaans), racism, and European colonialism in Africa, and for the freedom of peoples, truth, justice, equality among individuals and nations, and the right of all people to live a dignified life. To this end, they invited artists from over 70 countries to submit a design inspired by Madiba and the values ​​and causes championed by the movement he was part of.
